Chief Financial Officer – Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA)

Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) is a wholesale power agency owned by 31 municipal electric utilities. FMPA provides power that is competitively priced, reliable and clean, as well as value-added services for its owner-customers. The 31 members of FMPA serve more than two million Floridians and employ more than 3,300 people. FMPA serves all the power needs of 13 utilities and some of the power needs for seven members. FMPA had total revenues in fiscal 2017 of nearly $630 million and total assets of approximately $2 billion. More information is available at  The Orlando-based Agency is recruiting for a dynamic professional to join its executive team as Chief Financial Officer.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable, and 15+ years of experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles. Extensive experience in municipal finance, utilities and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning and strategy, promoting process improvement, forecasting, municipal finance, developing budgets, financial statements, financial skills, and GAAP accounting standards is a must. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the Agency. Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Strong knowledge of performance metrics and drivers. Can shift gears comfortably, can delegate, and comfortably handle risk and uncertainty. Can be counted on to push and communicate goals, is consistently focusing team on objectives and performance, and is service oriented to support the operational goals of the Agency.
